A method and a system for preventing pests and diseases of greenhouse crops. The method comprises: establishing an alert model for pests and diseases of greenhouse crops; obtaining in real time the type and a current environment parameter of a current crop; matching the type of the current crop against types of crops in the alert model to determine whether the current environment parameter is within an alert threshold range of the types of the crops in the alert model; if it is determined that the current environment parameter is within the alert threshold range, activating an image recognition device to obtain an image of the current crop, and determining, according to the image, whether the current crop is afflicted with a pest or a disease; and initiating, according to a recognition result, a corresponding regulatory mode. Thus, an alert relating to a pest or disease can be performed so as to enable timely preventive measures. Further, by means of image recognition, pest and disease control measures can be timely taken in the event of pest infestation or disease outbreak, diversifying alert methods and increasing the accuracy of prevention of pests and diseases.
