Abstract:
A method and a system for processing uplink and downlink data in the wireless communication
network are involved. The uplink data processing method includes receiving
uplink air interface data, performing channel decoding of the air interface
data and encapsulating the valid frames among the decoded air interface data
into IP packets. The downlink data processing method includes receiving IP packets
and performing channel coding and transmission of the valid frames among the
IP packets. The uplink data processing system includes base station transceiver
and source decoding unit. The downlink data processing system includes base
station transceiver and source coding unit. Encapsulation of data into IP packets
enables IP transmission in GSM. The transmission capability of GSM is improved
through only transmitting valid frames such as voice frames.
