Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and system for providing a content-related service, and more particularly, to a method for providing a content-related service to a client terminal using fingerprint information in a system for providing content service which includes a content database having fingerprint information on the content and content-related information. The method includes: a first operation for receiving a signal for requesting content-related information from a client terminal while a content-playing service is provided to the client terminal, wherein the signal for requesting content-related information includes partial fingerprint information on at least one sector of the content currently playing on the client terminal; a second operation for searching for the content-related information of the corresponding content in a content database on the basis of the partial fingerprint information in the signal for requesting content-related information; and a third operation for transmitting content-related service information, which is generated based on the searched content-related information of the corresponding content, to the client terminal.
