Disclosed are a method and a system for providing a location-based service. A location-based service providing method, which is performed by a location-based service providing system that determines a current location of a user terminal by interworking with a server, may comprise the steps of: receiving a request to provide a location-based service; in response to the request, requesting, from the server, and receiving information about a wireless access point located nearby a building where the user terminal is located; collecting information about the wireless access point located near the user terminal; and determining a current location of the user terminal on the basis of the information about the wireless access point received from the server and the collected information about the wireless access point.
