Abstract:

A method and a system for supplying ink automatically from an ink container to a print drum in stencil printing, and the ink container in which emptiness of the ink container is detected appropriately even when an ink container containing a not-preset type of ink is used. A parameter indicative of an inkless time corresponding to the type (viscosity) of ink is stored in a storage means (8) provided in the ink container (10), the parameter stored in the storage means (8) is read out, an inkless time is set based on the parameter, and when ink in an ink reservoir (2) is not detected by an ink quantity detecting means (40) for a duration longer than the inkless time, a decision is made that the ink container (10) is empty.
