Abstract:
A method for the temperature controlled flotation and decalcification of magnesite, which relates to the technical field of magnesite beneficiation and purification processes. The method comprises: crushing and sieving high-calcium low-grade magnesite to obtain magnesite powder that has a particle size of 38-74μm; adding deionized water to mix and adjust pulp so as to obtain a magnesite pulp having a mass concentration of 10-40%; and when the magnesite pulp temperature is 5-20°C, adding NaOH to the magnesite pulp; once the pH is adjusted to 10-12, first adding an aqueous sodium oleate collector and stirring uniformly, and then performing positive flotation and roughing to obtain low-calcium magnesite concentrate. The present method removes the calcium minerals in magnesite and improves the quality of magnesite according to the flotability difference of magnesite and dolomite as an impurity mineral in the magnesite at different ore pulp temperatures, thereby providing a new technology for the beneficiation and decalcification of high-calcium low-grade magnesite.
