Abstract:
A method for testing the water absorption rate of lead powder, comprising the following steps: (1) adding water into lead powder and carrying out kneading to obtain lumpy lead paste; (2) adding the lead paste into an empty steel cup, compacting same and carrying out scraping to allow the lead paste to be aligned with the mouth of the cup; and (3) calculating the apparent density of the lead paste to be (Mcup + lead powder - Mcup)/Vcup, wherein if the apparent density is within a pre-set range, the water absorption rate of the lead powder is Vwater/Mlead powder; if the apparent density is greater than the pre-set range, V1 water is added into the lead paste; and if the apparent density is less than the pre-set range, M1 lead powder is added into the lead paste, then an operation is carried out in the same way until the apparent density is within the pre-set range, and the water absorption rate of the lead powder is (Vwater + V1)/Mlead powder or Vwater/(Mlead powder + M1). The method can more accurately measure the water absorption rate of lead powder, and is quantitatively controllable in terms of measurement end point and has a high reproducibility rate.
