Abstract:
A vehicle body of a scrap motor vehicle removed of valuable parts and hazardous materials is wholly baked as it is, whereby removal of electrical wiring from the vehicle body is facilitated and metals are recovered as scrap without the generation of non-metallic shredder dust. Also, thermal decomposition residue separated upon baking of the vehicle body is subjected to high-temperature vacuum heat treatment such that decomposed dioxin and heavy metals in the thermal decomposition residue are recovered into a vacuum exhaust system for recovery of scrap and thermal decomposition carbon. Further, shredder dust generated upon shredder treatment of the vehicle body is baked for thermal decomposition in a state where oxygen is shut off as much as possible, and remaining solids are reheated to 400 to 500 �C under reduced pressure, whereby dioxin and heavy metals are prevented from being included in the thermal decomposition residue.
