Title:
THE METHOD TO SAVE THE EDGE CUTTING LOSS IN MANUFACTURE OF OPEN WIDTH KNIT FABRIC IN TEXTILE INDUSTRY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/084111
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In textile industry, when the manufactured fabric comes to the product stage, the edge of fabric is targeted to be hard and not to be folded. At present, the stiffener chemical can not be applied to very end of the edge because of the nedles preventing this. So, it is applied near to edge from the cloth back. However, more parts in the cloth including the parts where needles work is exposed to cutting, causing loses in production. With the invention in question, by doing some modifications on ram and sanfor machines, the stiffener chemical is applied to the needles providing the transfer of the fabric and stiffening of the cloth edge is achieved. Furthermore, during the process in which yarn turns into fabric form, application of the chemical to the fabric in tube form as band and then cutting of the fabric from the middle of the band along the length and obtaining open width fabric to whose edge the chemical has already been applied will be possible. So, edge cutting in the following stages will not be made. The motion energy needed for this process and needle cleaning will be obtained from the movement of the machine itself in ram and sanfor machines and from the movement of knit fabric in knitting machines.

CLAIMS

1. A method for prevention of edge cutting in open width knit fabric in textile industry characterized by that the application process contains step 1 where before the cloth in tube form is cut and turns into open width form in knitting machine, the stiffener chemical called as edge dressing is applied in the form of band along the length of the cloth; and step 2 where afterwards the fabric is cut from the middle of the band and it turns into open width fabric to whose edge the chemical has already been applied and with modifications made on the machine, the circular gear wheel getting its movement from friction with the fabric and attached to the rezervoir containing the chemical transfers (2) the chemical with this movement in the same direction with the fabric.

2. A method according to Claim 1 that is characterized by the fact that the transfer of chemical in the machines in which some processes are applied to open width fabric is achieved by applying the chemical to the needles attached to the cylinder and pallete providing the movement of the fabric; and that this transfer is achieved with the circular brush attached to the rezevoir containing the chemical and this brush gets its movement from the needles moving in the same direction (2); that the cleaning of the chemical residue on the needles is achieved with either a circular or pallete-like wire brush moving to the reverse direction of the needles (3).

Description:
THE METHOD TO SAVE THE EDGE CUTTING LOSS IN MANUFACTURE OF OPEN WIDTH KNIT FABRIC IN TEXTILE INDUSTRY

This invention relates to a method to save the edge cutting loss in manufacture of open width knit fabric in textile industry. The textile machines by which the touch, grammage unshrinkability in each square meter, drying of the cloth which is dyed, exposed to finishing process and used in knit fabric manufacture are in the kind called as ram and sanfor . Another process applied in such kind of machines is edge cutting in in fabrics. The aim of the process is to make the cloth harder and prevent the folding. This is achieved by applying a chemical which has stiffening property and doesn't damage to cloth's color near to the cloth's edge before edge cutting process. The chemical which has a stiffening property and is called as edge dressing can not be applied to the very end of the edge due to the needles which enable the cloth to forge ahead on the machine. As a result, the cutting is made at the closest point as close as possible to the chemical-applied point so as to minimize the loss during manufacture process.

With the invention in question, the chemical which prevents folding due to its stiffening property is applied directly to the edge of the cloth instead of applying it near to the edge as soon as possible and by this way edge cutting with a demanded thinness and preventing the loss by stopping the edge cutting completely will be possible.

This chemical called as edge dressing is possible to be transfered as band in knit fabric when yarn is knitted and gets fabric form in tube form with a modification in knitting machine. After the chemical is applied, the cloth to which the chemical is applied is cut from the middle part along the length and the cloth in tube form turns into open width cloth as chemical - applied form. As a result, since the edge of open width fabric doesn't fold, edge cutting will not be applied in the following stages. The invention in question preventing the edge cutting will be applied with a few modifications on machines. For the motional energy needed fort his process, extra energy will not be spent because all the necessary energy will be obtained from the machine's movement itself.

When the chemical is wanted to be applied in ram machine after fabric knitting, since the cloth is transfered on moving pallete with needles, the chemical is applied to the needles and the chemical residue on them can be cleaned with a system which will be set up on the turning point of the needles. The movement reverse to needle movement needed fort his cleaning will be obtained from the machine's movement, too and extra energy will not be spent.
