Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of traffic congestion estimation including a speed detecting step for detecting the speed of a vehicle within a prescribed period of time and outputting the detection result; a frequency analysis step for analyzing the frequency of the results of the speed detection and outputting the power spectrum; a slope detection step for detecting the slope of the power spectrum and outputting the detection result; a time variation calculation step for calculating the time variation of the slope and outputting the calculation results; and a traffic congestion estimation step for estimating the occurrence of traffic congestion from the results of calculating the time variation of the slope and outputting the estimation results.
