Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a method for transmitting a multicast message, a device, and a system, belonging to the field of electronic technology. The method comprises: when a device in a source subnet, connected to a core network, receives a multicast message of a target multicast group, determining the addresses of devices in a plurality of destination subnets corresponding to the target multicast group, connected to the core network,, and copying the multicast message, to obtain a plurality of multicast messages the number of which is equal to the number of the plurality of destination subnets; adding an outer layer encapsulation to each multicast message, and forwarding the multicast message added with the outer layer encapsulation, the destination address in the outer layer encapsulation being the address of the device in each destination subnet connected to the core network. The present disclosure can greatly reduce the number of multicast messages in a data transmission network and the occupation of network resources.
