Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for transmitting an optical transport network (OTN) signal, comprising: a network element (OTN device) obtains a first OTN signal, and determines a to-be-deleted timeslot in the first OTN signal; delete the to-be-deleted timeslot in the first OTN signal to form a second OTN signal; transmit the second OTN signal by using an optical module, wherein the transmission rate of the second OTN signal is adapted to that of the optical module. The technical solution can implement the construction of an OTN signal based on timeslot granularity, has high flexibility, and solves the problem that the rate of an OTN signal does not match that of an optical module.
