Abstract:

The invention relates to the field of sewage treatment and production of noble metals by the cyanide process. A method of treating cyanide pulp consists in mixing the cyanide pulp with formaldehyde while constantly controlling and maintaining the electrode potential in relation to the silver amalgam-silver chloride electrodes within the range of -50 to -100 mV and at a pH of 8 to 11, after which an ion-exchange resin is introduced into the cyanized pulp.
