Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for treating human waste in which the organic matter is dehydrated in situ, in a waterless sanitary appliance. The collected material is subjected to a dehydration process inside the sanitary appliance itself, reducing said material to a small quantity of sterilised powder. This residue can then be re-used in agriculture, as a fertilizer, or to produce biofuel. The invention also relates to a new sanitary appliance that does not use water to carry away waste, for use in locations with high demand of sanitary equipment and limited possibilities to expand the existing conventional networks.
