Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a method for treating a hydrocarbon oil, whereby it becomes possible to reduce the content of a diene or an olefin in the hydrocarbon oil even when hydrogen is unavailable; and an apparatus for treating a hydrocarbon oil.
[Solution] A hydrocarbon oil containing a diene and/or an olefin is decomposed by bringing the hydrocarbon oil and water into contact with a decomposition catalyst at a temperature of 375 to 550˚C to produce a decomposed hydrocarbon oil and hydrogen, and subsequently a hydrogenation reaction of the decomposed hydrocarbon oil is carried out by bringing the hydrogen and the decomposed hydrocarbon oil into contact with a hydrogenation catalyst at a temperature of 100 to 374˚C to reduce the content of the diene and/or the olefin.
