Abstract:
Disclosed are: a method for detoxifying metal-containing particles that contain a toxic heavy metal, needle-like particles or the like, particularly waste particles, extremely safely, conveniently and at low cost; a treatment method which can maintain the effect of the above-mentioned detoxification over time to prevent a second accident; a treatment method which can contribute to recycling of resources; and composite particles which have excellent heat resistance, flame retardancy, chemical resistance against acids, alkalis, organic solvents and the like, antistatic properties, weather resistance, water repellency and the like and which can be produced at relatively low cost.  Specifically disclosed is a particle treatment method characterized by impregnating metal-containing particles with a treatment solution comprising at least borax, silicone and water and melting the particles by heating at 600˚C or higher in a furnace.
