Abstract:

Provided are a method and apparatus for treating scrubber effluent that do not require large-scale equipment or complex maintenance, and facilitate solid-liquid separation of floc once formed. A magnetic powder is added to scrubber effluent, a bound substance of the magnetic powder and floating matter contained in the scrubber effluent is induced to form, and the substance is magnetically separated to clean the effluent. In this method for treating scrubber effluent, it is preferable to further add a flocculant in addition to the magnetic powder. The apparatus for treating scrubber effluent is provided with: a magnetic powder addition apparatus 9 for adding the magnetic powder to the scrubber effluent; and a magnetic separation apparatus 11 for magnetically separating the bound substance of the magnetic powder and floating matter contained in the scrubber effluent. The apparatus for treating scrubber effluent is preferably further provided with a flocculant addition apparatus 10 for adding a flocculant to the scrubber effluent.
