Abstract:
Provided are: a method for treating a sugar solution, the method for treating a sugar solution comprising feeding a sugar solution containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of carbonyl compounds and unsaturated alcohols other than sugars to a hydrogenation reaction, and hydrogenating the carbonyl compounds and/or unsaturated alcohols contained in the sugar solution; a hydrogenated sugar solution obtained by treatment according to said treatment method; and a method for producing an organic compound, having a step for obtaining an organic compound by causing microorganisms having the ability to produce a useful substance to act on an organic raw material containing said hydrogenated sugar solution.
