Abstract:
The present invention provides a surface treatment method capable of improving the anti-bacterial properties of copper or a copper alloy and increasing the speed of anti-bacterial action at a copper or copper alloy surface. This method for surface treating cooper or a copper alloy is characterized by including a step of preparing a reducing agent solution that contains an in vivo reductant and a step of treating copper or a copper alloy with the reducing agent solution. The present invention also provides a surface treatment liquid for sterilizing copper or a copper alloy, the liquid being characterized by containing the in vivo reductant. The present invention also provides a sterilizing method that is characterized by bringing the copper or copper alloy that has been treated using the surface treatment method into contact with a surface of a target so as to sterilize the surface of the target.
