Abstract:
[Purpose] To provide a technology such that a toxic substance contained in waste sand and waste collected dust from a foundry, such as heavy metals, fluorine, and boron, can be insolubilized at low cost.
[Solution] A method and system for treating a toxic substance in molding sand insolubilize, with the use of an insolubilizing agent, a toxic substance in molding sand used in a casting line for manufacturing a casting. In a dust collecting process for transporting dust produced in a recycling process for recycling molding sand to a dust collecting apparatus (1), an insolubilizing agent is added and caused to become attached to the dust surface.
