Abstract:
A method for unlocking a hood (1) of a vehicle, wherein a hood locking mechanism (2) comprises a latch (3), a safety catch(4), a locking member(5), and a striker (6). The latch (3) and the safety catch (4) are arranged for engaging the striker (6) and the locking member (5) is arranged for engaging the safety catch (4). The method comprises the steps: manually displacing a door (7) of the vehicle for giving access to the inner hood handle (8); manually activating the inner hood handle (8) for moving the hood locking mechanism (2) from the fully locked mode (M1) to an intermediate locked mode (M2); triggering a sensor (9) by the latch (3), wherein an electrical signal from the sensor (9) is activating the locking member (5) and the locking member (5) is displaced from a first position (P 1) to a second position (P 2); displacing the safety catch (4) from a closed state (S C) to an open state (S O) for moving the hood locking mechanism (2) from the intermediate locked mode (M2) to an open mode (M3).
