Abstract:
A method for updating and a system for updating a raster map, the update method comprising: on the periphery of a constructed rectangular initial raster map, dividing a plurality of supplementary regions that are sequentially adjacent to each other and that completely cover the periphery of the initial raster map (M1), the initial raster map comprising at least one square raster unit, and any two adjacent supplementary regions being connected and not overlapping with one another; when a robot is driven to walk along a working region, acquiring each position coordinate of the robot in real time (M2); confirming the position of the robot on the raster map according to each position coordinate of the robot and the position coordinates of the raster map (M3); and if the robot is confirmed to be in the supplementary region, then generating a new raster unit according to the position coordinates of the supplementary region so as to update the initial raster map to form a new raster map (M4). Thus, the described method is beneficial to the rapid positioning of a robot.
