Abstract:
Provided are: a method for using, as a refrigerant in a cooling system and as an alternative refrigerant to R404A, which is generally used in current practice, a refrigerant that has non-combustibility, interchangeable refrigeration capability, and other such properties equivalent to those of R404A, and has equal or greater COP and less GWP than does R404A; and a refrigeration apparatus in which said refrigerant is used. A method for using a fluorinated hydrocarbon mixture as a refrigerant, wherein the method is characterized in that: (1) the mixture contains R32, R125, and R134a at a total concentration of 99.5 wt%; (2) the composition ratio of the fluorinated hydrocarbons included in the mixture is such that, in a three-component composition diagram where the total concentration of R32, R125, and R134a is 100% by weight, the composition ratio is included within the range of a triangle having vertices at three points, specifically point A (R32/R125/R134a = 37.3/17.0/45.7 wt%), point F (R32/R125/R134a = 30.7/10.9/58.4 wt%), and point G (R32/R125/R134a = 29.4/14.1/56.5 wt%); and (3) the refrigerant is used as a refrigerant in a cooling system that has a countercurrent heat exchanger.
