Title:
METHOD FOR UTILIZING ACTIVATED CARBON POWDER RECOVERED FROM EXHAUST SINTERING GAS TREATING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/048250
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method for utilizing an activated carbon powder recovered from an exhaust sintering gas treating apparatus, characterized in that the activated carbon powder is reused in an iron making process. Specifically, the activated carbon powder is molded together with collected dust, sludge and crushed ores by using a binder into cold pellets, which are reused as a raw material in a blast furnace; the powder is added to quasi-granulated dust, and the resulting mixture is reused as a sintering fuel in a sintering machine; or the powder is blown into a tuyere of a blast furnace to thereby reuse it as a fuel and a reducing agent in a blast furnace. The method can be employed for recycling and using effectively an activated carbon powder recovered from a exaust sintering gas treating apparatus, which has conventionally been disposed of as a waste.
