Abstract:
A method of utilizing by-product water and a by-product water utilization system
which are intended to reduce an environmental burden. The method includes a by-product
water treatment step (4) in which oxygenous hydrocarbons are removed from the
by-product water generated in a synthesis-gas production step and/or a Fisher-Tropsh
synthesis step. The treated water from which the oxygenous hydrocarbons have
been removed in the by-product water treatment step (4) is reutilized as at least
one of a water supply to a boiler, process steam, steam for heating, cooling water,
and water for fire extinction/protection. Thus, the amount of water to be discharged
from the system into a river, the sea, etc. can be reduced. The amount of industrial
water to be used can also be reduced.
