Abstract:
A method of treating water with a precoated filter, wherein powdered cation- and anion-exchange resins and an ion-exchange fiber composed of an ion-exchange polymer and a reinforcing fiber are used as the precoating material, thereby drastically prolonging the service life of the precoating material and improving the quality of treated water. This method is applicable to the treatment of industrial water to be used in and waste water discharged from nuclear and thermal power stations, pharmaceutical companies, and the like.
