Abstract:
Two pieces of narrow pressure-sensitive adhesive double coated tapes each having a length equal to or slightly larger than the width of a material to be wound up and one piece of wide pressure- sensitive adhesive backup tape having a length larger than the width of the above adhesive double coated tapes or that of the material to be wound up are provided in a method of winding up the material to be wound up. The first and second pressure-sensitive adhesive double coated tapes are affixed, parallel to the axis of a core, onto the surface of the core with a gap provided therebetween. The material to be wound up is affixed onto the surface of the core in such a manner as to extend from the first pressure-sensitive adhesive double coated tape, and the core is rotated. When the material to be wound up reaches the position where the second pressure-sensitive adhesive double coated tape is present, the material to be wound up is affixed to the second pressure-sensitive adhesive double coated tape, the wide pressure-sensitive adhesive double coated backup tape having a length larger than the width of the material to be wound up is affixed onto the core by putting on the first and second pressure-sensitive adhesive double coated tapes and the material to be wound up wrapped around thereon, and the winding-up of the tape is continued. Consequently, the occurrence of wrinkles and baggies can be suppressed during the winding-up operation and a winding collapse can be prevented from occurring by increasing a winding tension.
