Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for wireless local area network channel handover notification assisted by cellular network comprising the following steps: before a wireless network access point performs channel handover, sending a channel handover notification signaling through broadcast to associated user equipment, and sending a channel handover notification request signaling to the cellular network base station likewise serving the user equipment; after the cellular network base station receives the channel handover notification request signaling, sending a channel handover notification signaling via the cellular link air interface to user equipment in the sleeping state; the wireless network access point performing the channel handover at a predetermined time, and the user equipment obtaining the channel handover information directly by receiving the channel handover notification signaling and the user equipment obtaining the channel handover information via the cellular network base station following the wireless network access point to perform the channel handover.
