Embodiments of the present application relate to methods and apparatuses for sidelink positioning reference signal (SL-PRS) transmission for round trip time (RTT) -type sidelink (SL) positioning. According to an embodiment of the present application, a user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver and a processor coupled to the transceiver; and the processor is configured to: determine a sidelink (SL) resource and a set of SL resources based on one of: indication information indicated, configured, or pre-configured to the UE, and performing a resource selection operation; and transmit a SL transmission on the SL resource via the transceiver to another UE, wherein the SL transmission indicates the set of SL resources.
