Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein disclose methods for handling slice aware cell reselection in wireless network (1000) by UE (100). The method includes determining whether a data item in a paging message is supported in one of a current frequency and a serving cell. In an embodiment, the method includes initiating a RRC connection setup procedure upon determining that the data item in the paging message is supported in one of the current frequency and the cell. In another embodiment, the method includes identifying a frequency supporting the data item using at least one of a broadcasted information and dedicated information, performing a cell selection to the identified frequency or perform cell reselection with the identified frequency as a highest priority frequency and initiating a RRC connection setup procedure upon determining that the data item in the paging message is not supported in one of the current frequency and the serving cell.
