Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a gas measurement unit (1) that measures gas; a gas shutoff valve (2) that cuts and supplies gas; a meter control unit (3) that controls the measurement and shutting off of gas; and a battery power supply (4). A meter control unit (3) has an earthquake sensing unit that measures acceleration and detects earthquakes. The earthquake sensing unit operates in a standby mode and a measurement mode that consumes more power than the standby mode and, when acceleration exceeds a prescribed threshold value, moves from the standby mode to the measurement mode and determines whether or not an earthquake has occurred, from the measured acceleration. The meter control unit (3) notifies if a state in which the earthquake sensing unit has not been able to determine whether or not an earthquake has occurred continues for a prescribed time period or occurs a prescribed number of times.
