Title:
MICROFLUIDIC PERFUSION CELL CULTURE SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/091043
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A microfluidic perfusion cell culture system is disclosed. The microfluidic perfusion cell culture system comprises: a substrate; a microfluidic injection channel formed within the substrate to guide a fluid along a plane direction of the substrate; two or more microfluidic branch channels branched from the microfluidic injection channel within the substrate; microfluidic outlet channels extending in the direction of the upper surface of the substrate from the end of each of the branch channels and penetrating the upper surface of the substrate so as to form through-holes; and well plates arranged on the upper surface of the substrate and fluid-communicatively connected with each of the outlet channels. Such a microfluidic perfusion cell culture system uses a microfluidic system. The microfluidic system refers to a technology for controlling a flow of a trace of liquid or gas (in the order of nanoliters or picoliters) within a microminiaturized device, and shows unique characteristics such as a streamline flow, large surface area characteristics, and a surface tension greater than inertia, unlike a macro system. The present invention can control and evaluate a perfusion cell culture system by precisely distributing the right nutrients to a cell culture system through the microfluidic system.
