Title:
MICROORGANISM HAVING PHA SYNTHASE-CODING GENES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHA USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/056442
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to increase the crystallization speed of a PHA copolymer that crystallizes slowly and improve the melt processability thereof to thereby increase productivity. For this purpose, a microorganism that has two or more kinds of different PHA synthase-coding genes originated from the genus Aeromonas is used. It is preferred that the PHA synthase-coding genes originated from the genus Aeromonas include at least two PHA synthase-coding genes that are capable of synthesizing a copolymerized PHA containing 3- hydroxybutyric acid and 3-hydroxyhexanoic acid as monomer units and different from each other in substrate specificity for 3-hydroxyhexanoic acid. By culturing this microorganism, a PHA mixture comprising three or more kinds of PHA's, said PHA's having different melting points, can be produced.
