Abstract:
A micropipette for accurately sucking a desired volume of liquid the volume of which is to be measured, a micropipette system, and a method for using a micropipette system are disclosed. The micropipette system includes a micropipette (1), an irradiating means (2), and a control means (3). The micropipette (1) has a reservoir part (12) for sucking liquid the volume of which is to be measured via an opening (11) formed in one end thereof by capillarity and holding the liquid. A photocatalyst layer (13) exhibiting hydrophilicity when irradiated by light is formed on the inner surface of the reservoir part (12). The irradiating means (2) irradiates the photocatalyst layer (13) with light. The control means (3) controls the region irradiated by light depending on the desired volume of liquid.
