Abstract:
Disclosed is a microwave firing furnace (101) equipped with: a firing chamber (103) in which an object to be fired (102) is disposed; a magnetron (116) that irradiates the interior of the firing chamber with microwaves; a cooling gas introduction mechanism (112b) that introduces a cooling gas from the exterior of the firing chamber to the interior of the firing chamber; a cooling gas flow path (113b) that allows the flow of said cooling gas to the firing chamber (103); heat-generating bodies (114a-114e) that self-heat when the microwaves are irradiated and heat the cooling gas flowing in the cooling gas flow path (113b); and a control unit (117) that causes the cooling gas introduction mechanism (112b) to introduce the cooling gas into the firing furnace and causes the magnetron (116) to irradiate the interior of the firing furnace intermittently with microwaves when the firing chamber (103) in which the object to be fired (102) is disposed is cooled.
