Title:
MICROWAVE MELTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1979/000923
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Material to be heated such as ash from an incinerator is charged into a melting furnace which is designed to form a microwave resonator. This melting furnace is designed such that the microwave resonance matching varied by charging therein the material to be heated may be adjusted in response to both the quantity and the specific inductivity of the charged material to be heated. This furnace is adapted to be used for melting solid waste such as, especially, ash containing radioactive substance in order to treat such solid waste by the melting-solidifying process.
