Abstract:
A mid-ship power assistant device for an electric bicycle comprises a frame (17), a middle axle (9), a fluted disc (1) mounted on the middle axle (9) of the bicycle, and an external electric assistant unit composed of an electric motor (2) and a reduction gearbox. Said electric assistant unit is installed on the frame (17) via a connection means easy to assemble and disassemble. The electric motor (2) and the reduction gearbox are provided under the five-way joint of the bicycle. The power output shaft of the electric motor (2) is connected to the input end of the reduction gearbox. The output end of the reduction gearbox is connected to the fluted disc (1) through a gear transmission mechanism or a chain pulley transmission mechanism. Installing the external electric assistant unit on the bicycle frame without the needs of changing the structure of the bicycle has advantages of simple process, short production cycle, low cost and easy assembly and disassembly.
