Abstract:
Devices fail to reduce performance loss before and after migration when performing migration of a program between platforms having a difference in instruction execution performance. The disclosed device is provided with a performance calculation unit and a resource assignment unit. Into the performance calculation unit is input capacity of memory which has been assigned to a migration program which operates upon a source machine which is connected through a network to the device itself, and the actual instruction speed (ECPs) upon the source machine; whereupon, on the basis of ECPs, the actual instruction speed (ECPd) of the migration program description instructions upon the device itself, and the memory speed that forms the basis of the ECPd, the required memory speed (MPd) is calculated. The resource assignment unit performs assignment of memory that is provided to a device that satisfies MPd for the migration program that is to be migrated to the device and that has the memory capacity, and if the assignment cannot be performed, outputs an error report.
