Abstract:
A solar module which comprises 1) a shallow enclosure which comprises a back plate and a corresponding front plate, the front plate is transparent to solar light and defining an inwardly oriented surface and an outwardly oriented surface, 2) a plurality of solar cells which are accommodated between the front plate and the back plate and adjacent the inwardly oriented surface of the front plate, the solar cells are exposed to solar light at the front plate, 3) a nozzle which is fixedly mounted on the outwardly oriented surface of the front plate or on a frame located at the outwardly oriented surface of the front plate, the nozzle is adapted to generate an air stream, preferably a laminar air stream, across the outwardly oriented surface of the front plate and has an overall flow direction parallel to the front plate for removing dust from the outwardly oriented surface of the front plate, 4) a pressurization system connected to the nozzle for supplying the nozzle with pressurized air, and 5) a control valve which has a closed state that prevents air from flowing from the pressurization system to the nozzle and an open state that allows air to flow from the pressurization system to the nozzle.
