Abstract:
A minute acicular particle containing metallic iron, iron carbide and free carbon, which is produced by reducing iron carbide, has a mean particle diameter (major axis) of 0.1-0.5 mum and an average aspect ratio of 3 to 15, and contains 15-80 wt.% of metallic iron, 10-75 wt.% of iron carbide and 5-13 wt.% of free carbon.
