Description:
Mixed fabrics bed sheet and contour sheet system FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[001] The present invention relates generally to beds and linens but more particularly to a mixed fabrics bed sheet and contour sheet.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[002] When a couple sleeps together, sometimes one feels cold under the sheets while the other feels fine or even hot A couple needs to resort to various ways of dealing with the bed sheets, more on one side less on the other.more layers, less layers on a given side, etc. There needs to be a better way to deal with individual needs in the matter of bed sheet cover. Although bed sheets are important, the texture and warmth or breathability characteristics of certain fabrics can also be of importance to the contour sheet Therefore, the invention covers both types of sheets.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [003] In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known devices now present in the prior art, the present invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide objects and advantages which are:

[004] To provide for a bed sheet which can be customized with different removable sections so that different types of fabrics or various numbers of bed sheets can be assigned to a side of the bed.

[005] In order to do so, the invention consists in a mixed flat sheet and mixed contour sheet along with a plurality of cover sheets adapted to be laid one upon the other, each of the plurality of cover sheets including one first half of a connector member on an edge thereof. The contour sheet adapted to be snugly fit upon a mattress member, and the flat sheet including a plurality of second half connector members positioned on a gusset portion positioned at a foot portion of said flat sheet such that each of the plurality of cover sheets can attach to their respective second connector members, and thereby offer a person a choice of cover sheets to pull up and over onto the flat sheet and contour sheet.

[006] The contour sheet and the flat sheet are formed as two halves sewn down the length thereof, thereby forming two equal areas for people to lay on. The flat sheet has a plurality of second half connector members positioned at its foot portion such that when two people are sharing a bed that has the system upon it, each person has a choice of flat sheet and cover sheets to pull up and over onto the contour sheet wherein each cover sheet has a first half connector configured to connect with the second half connector on the flat sheet.

[007] In a preferred embodiment, each of the plurality of cover sheets are formed from a different material from another. [008] The mixed sheet system has different materials are chosen from a group of materials consisting of wool, cotton, polyester, etc.

[009] The connectors are snaps, buttons, zippers, hook and loop or any equivalent mechanical attachment means.

[0010] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter and which wi!J form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto. [0011] In this respect before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.

[0012] As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

[0013] These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be made to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter which contains illustrated preferred embodiments of the invention.

[0015] Figs. 1a-c Plan view, side view and side view detail of the invention. [0016] Fig. 2a-b Plan and side view of the bed sheet.

[0017] Figs. 3a-b Top view and side cutaway detail of the sowing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0018] A mixed sheet cover system (10) consists of a mixed fabrics cover sheet (12), a mixed fabrics contour sheet system (13), and a mixed fabrics flat sheet system (11) consisting of two fitted sheets which are sewn together.

[0019] A plurality of connector members (14, 14') wherein a first half connector

[14] is attached at the foot of the cover sheet (12), and a second half (14*) is attached on a gusset (15) located at the foot of of the Hat sheet system (11) where they lay across their respective halves of the thickness of a mattress (16). The fiat sheet system (11) connector members (14, 14 1 ) can be any of a variety of mechanical attachment means including but not limited to buttons, snaps, hook and loops or zippers, for example.

[0020] Different types of fabrics that exhibit various heat retention factors such as wool, cotton, polyester, to name but a few, can be mixed and matched and sewn together as flat sheet (11) and contour sheet (13). [0021] For example, if one member of a couple is more sensitive to cold than the other member of of the couple, then a contour sheet and a flat sheet having one half made out of cotton and the other half made out of flannel could be used. Then, layers of cover sheets could be added wherein the first is made out of cotton/flannel, the second layer made out of cotton/Wool and the third wool/Wool. Any permutation is possible.

[0022] Additionally, to make the flat sheet system (11) reversible, the zippers can be located on the inside of the flat sheet system (11) as well. In other words, on both sides of the flat sheet system (11). [0023] As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.

[0024] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention. [0025] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
