Abstract:
The present invention provides a mixed powder for powder metallurgy, which contains (a) an iron-based powder and (b) a lubricant, and which provides a combination of fluidity of the mixed powder, removability during molding, and compressibility of a molded article, wherein: the lubricant (b) comprises a low-melting lubricant having a melting point of 86°C or lower and a high-melting lubricant having a melting point of over 86°C; the low-melting lubricant has at least one group selected from the group consisting of an amide group, an ester group, an amino group, and a carboxyl group; the ratio of the low-melting lubricant with respect to the lubricant (b) overall is 5 mass% to less than 90 mass%; the ratio of the mass of free lubricant (b2) to the mass of bound lubricant (b1) is 0 to 15, the bound lubricant (b1) being the lubricant (b) adhering to the surfaces of the iron-based powder (a), and the free lubricant (b2) being the lubricant (b) not adhering to the surfaces of the iron-based powder (a); and the amount of the low-melting lubricant included as the free lubricant (b2) is less than 0.10 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the iron-based powder.
