Abstract:
Provided is a mixed squaring operation method, which squares a factor to be subject to a squaring operation in a microprocessor. The mixed squaring operation method comprises: a step in which a control unit divides a factor into a plurality of partial factors by dividing the size of the factor by a word size of a microprocessor; a step in which the control unit divides the plurality of partial factors into a first partial factor group including consecutive lower partial factors and a second partial factor group including consecutive upper partial factors; and a calculation step in which a calculation unit accumulates, in a register, a value obtained by multiplying partial factors by each other included in each of the first partial factor group and the second partial factor group, and adds up the accumulated values to generate a result value.
