Abstract:
Disclosed is an MnZnCo ferrite core made from basic components, secondary components and unavoidable impurities that is characterized in that into the basic components of iron oxide (as Fe2O3): 51.0‑53.0 mol%, zinc oxide (as ZnO): greater than 12.0 mol%, 18.0 mol% or less, cobalt oxide (as CoO): 0.04‑0.60 mol% and manganese oxide (as MnO): remainder, silicon oxide (as SiO2): 50-400 mass ppm and calcium oxide (as CaO): 1000-4000 mass ppm are added as secondary components; of the unavoidable impurities, phosphorus, boron, sulfur and chlorine are kept to phosphorus: less than 3 mass ppm, boron: less than 3 mass ppm, sulfur: less than 5 mass ppm and chlorine: less than 10 mass ppm, respectively; and the ratio of the measured specific surface area to the ideal specific surface area of said MnZnCo ferrite core satisfies formula (1). (1) Here, the measured specific surface area is the specific surface area (m2/g) obtained with the BET method (multi-point method) of JIS Z 8830 (2001) and the ideal specific surface area is the specific surface area (m2/g) calculated from the core dimensions and mass, assuming an ideal state with no voids in the core. Said MnZnCo ferrite core has superior characteristics such that the incremental permeability µ∆ when a 33 A/m direct-current magnetic field is applied is always 2000 or greater in a temperature range of ‑40‑85°C.
