Abstract:
A prosthesis includes at least a first component (102) and a second component (104). The components being disposed with a variety of magnetic material (110/112). The magnetic material (110/112) being either hard magnetic material or soft magnetic material. The magnetic material (110/112) is arranged and configured to magnetically interact and controllably constrain movement between the components (102/104). The magnetic material (110/112) is also organized to generate a gradient against movement of the components (102/104). The magnetic material (110/112) also forms opposing grid patterns that interlock magnetically.
