Abstract:
A mobile body changeable between the stable state and inverted state by a simple configuration and a control method for the mobile body. The mobile body according to one embodiment of this invention moved by inverted pendulum control comprises a boarding seat (11), an undercarriage (12), a right drive wheel (18) and a left drive wheel (20), motors (34, 36) for rotationally driving the right drive wheel (18) and the left drive wheel (20), a front bar (14) further projecting forward than the undercarriage (12), a motor (42) for rotationally driving the front bar (14), a foot step (17) which is attached to the front bar (14) and on which the feet of the rider (80) are placed, and a control unit (32) for controlling the motor (42). The control unit (32) moves the foot step (17) to the inverted state by raising in a manner so as to leave a ground, or moves the foot step (17) to the stable state by lowering in a manner so as to come into contact with the ground.
