Abstract:

Provided are a mobile device and a communication method wherein positional information can be collected with less load added to the mobile device and to the network. In the mobile device (100), a communication unit (101) receives, from a base station (200), an information signal including a cell ID, and a determining unit (103) determines whether the cell ID included in the information signal matches a cell ID stored in a storing unit (102). Then, a positioning unit (105) performs a position determination, and the communication unit (101) notifies the positional information obtained by the position determination. In this way, a management center (500) can collect the positional information of the mobile device (100) existing in a predetermined area, and the load on the mobile device (100) and on the network can be reduced, thereby achieving an effective collection of positional information.
