Abstract:
Provided is a mobile information terminal capable of assessing, with high precision, which of one-handed operation or both-handed operation is the operational state by a user without being influenced by individual differences in grip characteristics of users. This mobile information terminal is provided with: a pressure sensor array for acquiring a grip pressure distribution; a grip pressure logger for recording variation over time of grip pressure for each pressure sensor configuring the pressure sensor array; a grip pressure variation point detection unit provided with a grip pressure variation calculation unit which acquires the variation over time of the grip pressure for each pressure sensor, and for any of the pressure sensors, assesses whether or not the variation per unit of time of the grip pressure exceeds a predetermined value or not; and an operational state assessment unit which assesses the operational state of the mobile information terminal by the user of the mobile information terminal to be one-handed operation if the variation per unit of time of the grip pressure exceeds a predetermined value for any of the pressure sensors.
