Description:

MOBILE MANUAL CUTTING MACHINE HAVING MOVABLE CUTTER

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a mobile manual cutting machine which is called a cut-off machine in which a rotatable circular cutter is moved toward a work piece manually, to cut the work piece straightly or obliquely, among various kinds of cutting machines for cutting work pieces.

Background Art

Various kinds of cutting machines are known. Among them, a mobile manual cutting machine which is called a cut-off machine makes a rotating circular cutter made to move toward a work piece manually, to cut the work piece.

Work pieces cannot be cut precisely with the manual cutting machines. However, the manual cutting machines are widely used because they have the advantages of easy mobility and simple cut-off work.

The manual cutting machine includes a table on which a part of a work piece is put and a clamp that fixes the work piece put on the table. Accordingly, a cutter that is rotated by a motor is moved and rotated toward a work piece at the state where the work piece has been fixed on the table, to thereby achieve a cut-off work.

In addition, if an external force exerted by a turning handle is removed after a cut-off work has been completed, the cutter is rotated in a reverse direction by a spring, to thereby perform a cut-off work of another work piece.

By the way, in the case of the conventional cutting machine, the cutter cannot be moved in the left and right direction.

Accordingly, it is considerably difficult to cut along the marked points of a work piece.

That is, a portion a work piece to be cut should be marked using a magic pen, or a piece of chalk. In order to cut the marked portion of the work piece comparatively accurately, the market portion of the work piece should be positioned at a rotational path of the cutter, relatively accurately, that is, a path along which the cutter is rotated.

By the way, when a cut-off work is performed using a mobile manual cutting machine, only a single worker performs a cut-off work alone in most cases. Further, since most of work pieces are long and heavy, it is difficult to make the rotational path of the cutter positioned at the marked portion comparatively accurately.

Meanwhile, a clamp which is provided in the conventional mobile manual cutting machine can be turned in the left and right direction. Accordingly, a work piece may be obliquely cut if the work piece is twisted and clamped.

By the way, since only a single worker performs a cut-off work alone, it is difficult to twist and clamp a long work piece at a desired angle. Accordingly, there is a problem that it is considerably difficult to obliquely cut a work piece at a desired angle. In addition, a cut-off worker may confront a restriction problem in space when he or she performs an oblique cut-off work of a work piece.

Disclosure of the Invention To solve the above problems, it is an object of the present invention to provide a mobile manual cutting machine in which a cutter is moved to the left

and right, to thereby enable a cut-off worker to cut a long and heavy work piece relatively accurately.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a mobile manual cutting machine in which a cutter is moved to the left and right and is turned in the left and right direction, to thereby enable a cut-off worker to twist and clamp a long and heavy work piece and easily cut the work piece obliquely alone.

To accomplish the above objects of the present invention, according to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a mobile manual cutting machine in which a cutter is movable.

In the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention, a motor and a cutter can be moved left and right along the body of the work piece at the state where the work piece is fixed, to thereby enable a cut-off worker to make a portion of the work piece to be cut and a rotational path of the cutter meet each other relatively accurately.

In addition, since the motor and the cutter can be moved left and right, the motor and the cutter can be twisted and positioned obliquely with respect to the work piece, if a cut-off worker wishes to cut a work piece obliquely, to thus make the worker easily perform an oblique cut-off work of the work piece.

The mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a main body having a table on which part of a long work piece is put, which is positioned on a floor.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a clamp which is placed in front of the main body, and pressurizes and clamps the work piece put on the table.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a left and right movable unit which is placed at the back of the main body, and which can be slid selectively left and right along the main body. In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a circular cutter to cut the work piece and a motor that makes the cutter rotate so as to make the cutter cut the work piece.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a motor installation body which is mounted on the left and right movable unit so as to be moved left and right together with the left and right movable unit, and on which the motor is placed, in which the motor installation body can be rotated so that the motor and the cutter can be rotated toward the work piece clamped on the table.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a turning handle which can make the motor installation body rotated so that the motor and the cutter can be rotated toward the work piece clamped on the table.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes an elastic body which makes the motor and the cutter rotated in the direction seceding from the work piece, if external force is removed, at the state where the motor and the cutter have been rotated toward the work piece by applying the external force to the turning handle.

Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention

The above and/or other objects and/or advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by the following description. However, since the accompanying drawings are not more than examples which are illustrated in order to concretely explain technological spirit and concept according to the present invention, it is apparent to one skilled in the art that the technological spirit and concept according to the present invention are not limited to the accompanying drawings. The present invention provides a mobile manual cutting machine in which a cutter is movable.

The mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a main body 10 having a table 11 on which part of a long work piece is put, which is positioned on a floor, in the same manner as that of the conventional art.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a clamp 20 which is placed in front of the main body 10, and

pressurizes and clamps the work piece put on the table 11.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a circular cutter 30 to cut the work piece and a motor that makes the cutter 30 rotate so as to make the cutter 30 cut the work piece.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a motor installation body 50 on which the motor 40 is placed, in which the motor installation body can be rotated so that the motor 40 and the cutter 30 can be rotated toward the work piece clamped on the table 11. In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a turning handle 60 which can make the motor installation body 50 rotated so that the motor 40 and the cutter 30 can be rotated toward the work piece clamped on the table 11.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes an elastic body (not shown) which makes the motor 40 and the cutter 30 rotated in the direction seceding from the work piece, that is, returned to the original position, if external force is removed, at the state where the motor 40 and the cutter 30 have been rotated toward the work piece by applying the external force to the turning handle 60. Here, the object of the present invention is to enable a worker to cut a long and heavy work piece comparatively accurately.

The reason why a long work piece or a long and heavy work piece cannot be cut with the conventional manual mobile manual cutting machine comparatively accurately, is because it is difficult for a single person to carry the work piece alone comparath^ely accurately.

For this purpose, the present invention enables a worker to make the

cutter 30 of the mobile manual cutting machine moved to the left and right (see FIGS. 4 A and 4B).

Thus, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention includes a left and right movable unit 70 which is placed at the back of the main body 10, and which can be slid selectively left and right along the main body 10.

In addition, the motor installation body 50 is implemented in a form that the mobile manual cutting machine 50 is mounted in the left and right movable unit 70, and can be moved to the left and right of the main body 10, together with the left and right movable unit 70.

The cutter 30 can be moved to the left and right of the main body 10. This means that the cutter 30 is moved to the left and right along the work piece in view of the feature of the mobile manual cutting machine. The method of implementing the left and right movable unit 70 so as to be selectively slid can be embodied in various forms.

As shown in FIG. 1, since the left and right movable unit 70 is linked with a screw axis 72 that is rotated by manipulation of a handle 71, the left and right movable unit 70 is moved to the left and right by manipulation of the handle 71 and is guided to move by a guide rod 73. In this manner, the left and right movable unit 70 may be implemented into a slidable structure.

In addition, the left and right movable unit 70 can be embodied by employing a ball screw using method or an LM (linear motion) guide using method which are already used in various industrial fields. Here, the method of using the screw axis 72 which is rotated by manipulation of the handle 71 as shown in FIG. 7 according to the present

invention or the ball screw method (not shown) makes movement of the left and right movable unit 70 selectively controlled by the screw axis 72 or the ball screw, without requiring for an additional component. However, the method of using the LM (linear motion) guide 74 needs additional components that can control movement of the left and right movable unit 70 selectively.

As shown in FIGS. 2, 3 A and 3B, the left and right movable unit 70 in the mobile manual cutting machine according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a close adhesion plate 81, a wire 82, and a lever 83, in order to control left and right movement of the left and right movable unit 70 selectively.

The left and right movable unit 70 of FIGS. 3A and 3B includes the close adhesion plate 81 which is distant from an object (LM guide; 74) by a spring 84 if external force is not applied to the close adhesion plate 81, so that the object (LM guide; 74) is not pressurized, but which contracts the spring 84 and pressurizes the object (LM guide; 74), if external force is applied to the left and right movable unit 70, so that the close adhesion plate 81 prevents the left and right movable unit 70 from being moved. Here, the close adhesion plate 81 is connected with the wire 82.

Here, the lever 83 pulls the wire 82 to thereby apply external force to the close adhesion plate 81 or remove external force from the close adhesion plate 81.

Therefore, the left and right movement of the left and right movable unit 70 is controlled selectively by manipulation of the lever 83.

The reason why the left and right movement of the left and right movable

unit 70 is controlled selectively is because the cutter 30 should not move during cutting a work piece.

A considerable number of cutting chips are produced in the process that the cutter 30 cuts a work piece. By preventing the cutting chips from dropping on the moving path of the left and right movable unit 70, there is a need to make the movement of the left and right movable unit 70 not influenced by the cutting chips.

Therefore, when the mobile manual cutting machine according to the embodiment of the present invention is implemented as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, it is desirable that the moving path of the left and right movable unit 70 should not be exposed. This structure of making the moving path of the left and right movable unit 70 not exposed may be embodied in various forms such as a bellows structure that has been already known. This technology of making the moving path of the left and right movable unit 70 not exposed has been already applied to various kinds of machine tools and is widely known. Thus, the detailed description thereof will be omitted.

Meanwhile, there is a need to cut a work piece obliquely, through the mobile manual cutting machine. As described above, in order to cut a work piece obliquely in the conventional art, the work piece should be twisted and clamped in the desired direction of the work piece to be cut. Then, the turning handle is manipulated to make the motor 40 and cutter 30 rotate in the direction of the work piece.

However, such a conventional obliquely cutting method has the considerable difficulty in setting an angle of a work piece to be cut and carrying and clamping the work piece.

Accordingly, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention provides a structure that the cutter 30 is obliquely twisted at a desired angle with respect to a work piece. That is, when a work piece is obliquely cut, the work piece is not moved but the cutter 30 is moved in the present invention. Accordingly, as shown in

FIGS. 5A and 5B, the present invention provides a structure of selectively maintaining an obliquely twisted state of the cutter 30 with respect to the work piece. In more detail, the present invention provides a structure that the motor installation body 50 can be selectively rotated left and right around the left and right movable unit 70.

The structure that the motor installation body 50 is selectively rotated left and right around the left and right movable unit 70, can be implemented using various kinds of known technologies of selectively controlling rotation of a rotating body.

In more detail, as shown in FIGS. 6A and 6B, a guide groove 51 is formed in the motor installation body 50, and a clamping bolt 75 is inserted into the guide groove 51. Here, the clamping bolt 75 is installed so as not to be moved, and an engagement nut 52 is engaged with the clamping bolt 75. Accordingly, the movement of the motor installation body 50 is controlled by the engagement nut 52 and the clamping bolt 75.

As shown in FIGS. 2, 3A and 3B, in order to control the motor installation body 50 to be selectively rotated left and right around the left and right movable unit 70, the mobile manual cutting machine according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a close adhesion plate 91, a wire 92, and a lever 93.

The close adhesion plate 91 of FIGS. 3A and 3B is distant from the motor installation body 50 by a spring 94 if external force is not applied to the close adhesion plate 91. Accordingly, the motor installation body 50 is not pressurized. Meanwhile, the spring 84 is contracted and the close adhesion plate is pressurized, if external force is applied to the close adhesion plate 91. Accordingly, the close adhesion plate 91 prevents the motor installation body 50 from being rotated.

Here, the close adhesion plate 91 is connected with the wire 92. Here, the lever 93 pulls the wire 92 to thereby apply external force to the close adhesion plate 91 or remove external force from the close adhesion plate 91.

Therefore, the left and right rotational movement of a rotating body 51 of FIGS. 6A and 6B is controlled selectively by manipulation of the lever 93. Alternatively, the motor installation body 50 may be rotated around the left and right movable unit 70 and a number of pin holes may be formed in the motor installation body 50 and the left and right movable unit 70. Although not shown in the drawings, the rotation of the motor installation body 50 may be selectively restricted by inserting pins into the pin holes in which case the motor installation body 50 corresponds to the rotating body.

It is desirable that the mobile manual cutting machine according to this invention includes- a measuring sight 100 on which lengths are marked along the lengthy direction of the left and right movable unit 70, to thereby enable a worker to measure and cut a length of a work piece to be cut through the measuring sight 100.

It is desirable that length of the measuring sight 100 may be controlled

so as to avoid any interference with a cut-off work.

In addition, the mobile manual cutting machine according to this invention further includes a protractor 110 that enables a worker to see a rotational angle of the motor installation body 50. Accordingly, the cutter 30 can be easily twisted at a relatively accurate angle with respect to a work piece, to thereby cut the work piece obliquely.

As described above, a mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention enables a cut-off worker to make a cutter moved to the left and right, to thereby enable the cut-off worker alone to cut a long and heavy work piece as well as a small work piece, relatively accurately. Accordingly, it is very easy for the cut-off worker to perform the cut-off work of work pieces.

In addition, a mobile manual cutting machine according to the present invention enables a cut-off worker to make a cutter rotated in the left and right direction, to thereby enable the cut-off worker to twist and clamp a long and heavy work piece and easily cut the work piece obliquely alone.

Industrial Applicability

As described above, the present invention can be applied to a mobile manual cutting machine which is called a cut-off machine in which a rotatable circular cutter is moved toward a work piece manually, to cut the work piece straightly or obliquely, among various kinds of cutting machines for cutting work pieces.
