Abstract:
A mobile object position detecting device (1) for matching the position of another vehicle existing in a predetermined region to map information about the predetermined region comprises a vehicle-to-vehicle communication unit (2) for receiving position information and moving state information about the other vehicle, a road-to-vehicle communication unit (3) for acquiring road environment information including road environment within the predetermined region, a judgment section (4a) for judging whether or not the traveling state of the other vehicle complies with the road environment, and a matching section (4b) for matching the position of the other vehicle to the map information according to the result of the judgment by the judgment unit (4a). Thus, the mobile object position detecting device capable of precisely matching the position of a mobile object to map information is provided.
